How Medicare claiming works

1
See your GP to discuss a Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral to our practice.
2
Attend your session (in-person or online). Pay the full fee on the day.
3
Claim your rebate using our receipt—most claims are processed quickly by Medicare.

Note: You can’t claim Medicare and private health for the same session. Rebates are set by Medicare and may change over time.

Pricing & rebate FAQs

Do I need a GP referral to see a psychologist?

You’re welcome to book without a referral (standard fees apply). To claim Medicare rebates, you’ll need a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral made out to our practice or your chosen clinician.

Is the fee the same for online sessions?

Yes—our in-person and telehealth sessions are the same price for both Registered and Clinical Psychologists.

Can I use private health insurance?

Many policies cover psychology. You can’t claim both Medicare and private health for the same session—most clients choose whichever rebate is higher for them.
